ONE PAYMENT · YOUR OWN MACHINE

# Buy it once. Run your restaurant on your own computer, with the internet unplugged.

GoSufra Local Edition is the same restaurant system, installed on one Windows PC in your own shop. One licence, one branch, one payment — no monthly bill, no account to keep alive, and no supplier who can switch your till off. The cashier machine is the server; the kitchen screen and the waiter phones are browsers on your own WiFi.

Windows · one licence per branch · your data stays on your machine

## What the one payment buys

### One payment, and it is yours

A perpetual licence for one branch, bought once from your GoSufra account. There is no renewal date, no per-user fee and no seat count. Stop paying us and the till keeps ringing, because the software is on your disk and the licence does not expire.

### Four apps, served by the till itself

The dashboard, the POS, the kitchen display and the waiter app are all in the box. Nothing is installed on the tablets: the Windows PC serves the four screens over your WiFi, so a kitchen tablet or a waiter phone just opens an address and works.

### The internet is not part of the service

This is not offline mode, which is a queue waiting to sync. There is nothing to sync: the database is on the machine in front of you and the orders never leave the building. Unplug the router and the POS, the kitchen screen and the reports carry on exactly as before.

### Your data never leaves the shop

Sales, recipes, costs, staff and customers live in a PostgreSQL database on your own disk, bound to that machine and reachable by nothing outside it. A backup is taken every night at three, kept in a folder you can copy, and a failed one is deleted rather than kept — half a backup is worse than none, because it looks like a backup.

### A licence tied to the machine, not to a login

Activation is a signed licence file carrying your restaurant name and the fingerprint of that PC. It is checked on the machine itself, so nothing phones home to serve a customer. Swap a disk and it still starts: the fingerprint accepts two matches out of three, because a dead SSD should not lock a restaurant out of its own till.

### A door to the cloud, kept open

The local build and the hosted platform share one database schema, and every record is keyed by a GUID. That is what lets a branch move: export a signed package from the machine and import it as a branch under a cloud account, without two independent databases colliding on a single id. Buying local is not a decision you have to unmake by hand.

## Local Edition or the cloud — including where local loses

Two shapes of the same product. The table below is the one we would want to read before spending money, so it names the gaps as plainly as the wins.

| Local Edition or the cloud — including where local loses | Local Edition | Cloud platform |
| --- | --- | --- |
| How you pay | Once, per branch | Monthly or annually |
| Where the data lives | On your own PC | On our servers, exportable any time |
| Branches | One per licence, each an island | Unlimited, managed together |
| Apps in the box | Dashboard, POS, kitchen, waiter | Those four plus customer, driver and your own website |
| Online ordering and delivery | Not included — it needs a public address | QR menu, online orders, drivers, tracking |
| If the internet is down | Nothing changes — it was never used | The POS keeps selling from its offline queue and syncs on reconnect |
| Updates | You run the new installer when you want it | Already there when you sign in |

## From buying it to taking the first order

1. 1 ### Buy the licence from your account Sign up on gosufra.com — the free plan is enough — and buy a Local Edition licence from the dashboard. The purchase gives you the installer download and an activation code. One code activates one machine.
2. 2 ### Run one installer on the cashier PC One .exe puts everything in place: the application, its own PostgreSQL bound to localhost, both Windows services, and the firewall rule the tablets need. No Docker, no separate database wizard, no second installer. It generates the database password and the signing key once and keeps them, so an upgrade never signs your staff out of every till.
3. 3 ### Point the tablets at it with a QR code The setup wizard shows a QR code for each screen. Open the tablet camera, scan, and the kitchen display or the waiter app opens at the right address. Nothing is compiled into the apps and nothing is configured: the address they were opened at is the address their requests go to, so the same build works at any address and on any machine.
4. 4 ### Check it from a phone before you open The wizard does not finish until you have opened the address from a phone on the shop WiFi. That step exists because the single most common failure is "works on the PC, not on the tablet" — a firewall rule that reads correctly in the list and applies to nothing, because Windows filed the shop network as Public. Finding that at setup costs a minute; finding it at the lunch rush costs the service.

## Before you buy

#### Is it really a one-time payment, with nothing monthly?

Yes. You pay once for a branch licence and the software runs on your machine for as long as that machine does. There is no monthly bill, no renewal, and no expiry: an install whose owner never contacts us again keeps taking orders. Updates come as a new installer you choose to run.

#### I have two branches. Can one licence cover both?

No, and this is the honest limit of the product. Two branches means two licences and two independent machines, with no shared stock, no staff moving between them and no consolidated report — two computers cannot see each other without a server in between, which is exactly what the local edition removes. If you need the two read as one business, the cloud platform is the answer, and a local branch can be exported into it later.

#### What happens to my data if the PC dies?

A backup is written every night at three, and a machine that was switched off then takes one when it comes back. They are kept every night for a week, weekly for a month and monthly for a year — under forty files, in a folder you should copy to a USB disk as part of closing up. Owning the machine means owning that habit too: nobody else can take that copy for you.

#### Can I start local and move to the cloud later?

Yes — that path is built into both sides rather than bolted on. The machine exports a signed package of the whole branch and a cloud account imports it as one of its branches; the screen for it is in the dashboard and works in both directions, so a cloud branch can also come back down to a machine. Two things are still rough and worth knowing before you plan a move: order numbers can collide between branches, and a menu that exists on both sides needs someone to say which items are the same item.

#### What hardware do I need?

One Windows PC — normally the cashier machine — a router, and a screen for the kitchen. The kitchen screen can be any Android tablet on the WiFi with nothing installed, or a small Windows PC running the kitchen app in kiosk mode if you want sound and an always-on display. Receipts print to ordinary thermal printers, and barcode scanning works with a USB scanner, which types like a keyboard and needs no camera permission.

#### Do I have to be online to sell?

Only twice, and neither is during service: once to buy and download, and once to activate the machine. After that the shop WiFi only has to reach the till — the router does not even need an internet connection for the tablets to talk to it. There is an offline activation route as well, for premises where the connection is too poor to rely on even once.

## Would rather pay once than every month?

The Local Edition is a perpetual licence for one branch, installed on a Windows PC in your own shop. The dashboard, POS, kitchen display and waiter app run over your own WiFi with no internet at all, and the data stays on your disk. It does not do online ordering, drivers or a second branch — those need a public address a shop PC does not have — so it suits a single counter, not a chain.

Windows installer — downloaded from your dashboard once the licence is on the account.

One-time payment · one branch · no monthly fee
